Kinga is a graduate of directing at FAMU in Prague (2007), Camerimage Film School in Torun\u0301 (2001) and cultural studies (japanese studies) at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw (1996).<\/p>\n
She has made several documentaries, including awarded with the "Eagle", feature documentary film "Actress" (2015) about Elz\u0307bieta Czyz\u0307ewska. For her feature debut "Hel" (2010) she was awarded with the Best Screenplay Award at the Youth and Film Festival in Koszalin.<\/p>\n
So far, her greatest success – both artistic and commercial – has brought her the film "These Daughters Of Mine" (2015). De\u0328bska received the Audience Award, the Journalists' Award and the Award of the Studio and Local Cinema Networks at the Gdynia Film Festival. The title was also awarded with two Eagles: for the best script and an audience award. "These Daughters of Mine" have also been noticed and appreciated, among other festivals in Chicago (Polish Film Festival in America, "Golden Teeth" award,<\/p>\n
2015), Moscow (FFP Main Award "Wis\u0142a", 2016) and at the China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival (Audience Award, 2017).<\/p>\n
Her film "Zabawa Zabawa" was a box-office success and was appreciated in Wrzes\u0301nia (National Film Festival "Prowincjonalia", Main Award "Jancio Wodnik" for the best feature film) and during Mastercard Offcamera in Cracow (Audience Award). Her latest feature film “Zupa Nic” \/ “Back Then” (2021) was qualified for the Main Competition at Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.<\/p>\n
In addition to feature films and documentaries, she has made over 100 episodes of the most popular TV series: "Na Dobre i Na Z\u0142e", "M jak Mi\u0142os\u0301c\u0301", "Barwy Szcze\u0328s\u0301cia", "Szo\u0301stka" and directed two plays for the TV theater: "Oscar for Emily" (2019), “Lato w Nohant” (2021) and "Lulu" (2022).<\/p>\n
Lastest movie directed by Kinga "\u015awi\u0119to ognia" is an uplifting, humorous and moving film, which as Kinga says is the most tender and delicate of her films, something between "Amelia" and "The Intouchables." KInga received Golden Kangaroo Award for The Main Competition Film at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. The movie received awards in other categories: Kinga Preis as actress in a supporting role and Paulina Pytlak in professional acting debut.<\/p>\n
Latest project directed by Kinga is tv series "Gra z cieniem". It's a suspenseful historical series in the style of noir crime fiction, set in the dark years of Stalinism (the 1950s). The plot revolves around a complex espionage intrigue surrounding the disappearance of the agent known as “Shadow,” as well as the dramatic story of Dr. Helena Bielawska, who is falsely accused and drawn into a dangerous game played by the secret services. The series was a major hit in Poland. “Gra z Cieniem” won the main GOLDEN AWARD in the Fiction Series category at the 5th International HEART OF EUROPE Festival. Currently Kinga works on the second season.<\/p>\n
Kinga De\u0328bska is also the author of the books, "Moje Co\u0301rki Krowy", "Porozmawiaj ze mna\u0328" and "Czu\u0142e miejsca. Re\u017cyserka o sobie".<\/p>\n
