Miros\u0142aw “Mietek” Koncewicz was born in 1976 in Tyczyn, Subcarpathia, and has been based in Kraków for many years. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in 2002 with a diploma project titled Reflection from the Department of Sculpture under Prof. Józef S\u0119kowski. Already in his first year of studies, he embarked on his scenography journey—a creative path he continues to follow to this day.<\/p>\n
Specializing in film set design, Miros\u0142aw also works across theatre, television, and advertising. In developing visual concepts, he draws inspiration from his diverse artistic background, bringing elements of sculpture, painting, and interior design into his scenographic work.<\/p>\n
He has collaborated with directors such as Jan P. Matuszy\u0144ski, Jerzy Hoffman, Marcin Krzyszta\u0142owicz, and Kinga D\u0119bska. His credits as production designer include both seasons of Netflix’s Sexify and Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO, nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.<\/p>\n
Beyond production design, Miros\u0142aw is active in the visual arts and cultural projects. In 2006, he received a Creative Scholarship from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage for a reinterpretation series of Diego Velázquez’s Infanta paintings. Since 2022, he has been running his own art gallery in Kraków’s Kazimierz district.<\/p>\n
His recent projects include feature film Nieobliczalna (Unpredictable, dir. Piotr Trzaskalski) and the Netflix series 1670 seson 1 & 2 (dirs. Maciej Buchwald, Konrad K\u0105dziela). Season 1 quickly became the top-rated show in Poland.<\/p>\n
